Examination and Promotion

Promotions of students in classes Nursery, LKG and UKG are done on the basis of the quality and satisfactory work done during the whole year. They will be having Quarterly, Half Yearly and Final /Annual Examination.


All the assessments for classes I to IX will be internal, based on the latest CBSE circulars. Though the Board exams will be compulsory for Class X, 20% of the total marks in each subject will be for the internal assessment, which includes Periodic Test, Note Book Submission and Subject Enrichment activity. The assessment structure and examination pattern for Class IX will be similar to that of Class X, with full course


The New scheme too will have two terms, ending with two major exams. But unlike before, the second terminal exam will cover important topics. (“1st term covering significant topics”) from the first term too.


The details of the assessment are as follows:-


TERM-I


All Subjects (1st Half of the Session)

80 Marks : Half-Yearly Exam

Annual Examination : 80 marks (Written Exam)


Written Exam for 80 marks with syllabus coverage as given below:-

For Class VI 10% of 1st Term covering significant topics + Entire Syllabus of II Term

For Class VII 20% of 1st Term covering significant topics + Entire Syllabus of II Term

For Class VIII 30% of 1st Term covering significant topics + Entire Syllabus of II Term

Subject Enrichment activities which form an integral part of the  new scheme, aim at enriching the understanding and skills of the students. These will be carried out throughout the term and evaluated at the term end. Similar activities in languages will focus on developing the listening and speaking skills. The lab work, map/project work etc., in other subjects will also form part of these activities.

Discipline, a core aspect of education will also be assessed on the factors like attendance, sincerity, behaviour, values tidiness, respectfulness and adhering to the rules and regulations of the school, attitude towards society, nation and others. Grading will be done term-wise on a 3-points grade scale as given below:-

A minimum 75% attendance is required for appearing in the Half Yearly and Annual Examination.

If a child gets ‘E’ grade in one or more subjects, he/she will be given one chance to improve the grade. If the child doesn’t improve he/she will be required to repeat the same class during the next academic year for Classes I to VIII with the approval of the parents. It is done purely to help the student’s future study.

Parents should ensure that their children are regular for all the examinations including regular class tests, assessments and these performance will be also considered for promotion.

Answer sheets of periodic examinations are shown to the parents for the improvement of their children. Parents are expected to contact the class teachers within the scheduled time period for the same. Answer scripts of final examinations are not shown.
